The Spiritual Side of Jazz
The University of Louisville School of Music will host the 31st African American Music Heritage Institute (AAMHI) on February 2–3, 2026, at the Belknap campus. The event honors African American musical history with concerts, clinics, lectures, and workshops for Kentuckiana K–12 students, UofL students, and the public.
Theme: the role of spirituality in jazz and how musicians convey hope, healing, and justice.
